Fowl Fourteen is a farm on a hillside in the Appalachian Mountains in the woods of East Tennessee. We are composed of fourteen chickens, three cats, two humans, and a dog. Most* of us are committed to building something that sustainability cultivates and harvests Appalachian herbal and medicinal botanicals, mushrooms, flowers, and anything else we think may be interesting. We then turn these things into something that can be enjoyed by you or someone that you deem worthy.
*“Most” because at least one cat and one chicken seem to be committed to total destruction and chaos. Some of us can get behind the chaos, but we are very much opposed to destruction. At least one of us is opposed to both chaos and destruction.
Mushrooms
We grow shiitake, lions mane, and a variety of oyster mushrooms in logs. Also, we have a wide variety of wild-growing funguses for foraging.
Botanicals
We cultivate and wild harvest a variety of herbal and medicinal plants. Specifically, we grow and/or forage for blue cohosh, goldenseal, black cohosh and ginseng.
